Information about the registration fee, the registration form, and other Reunion information will be sent in the next email update and posted on the NPCA website navypostalclerkassoc.org by Mike Bertalan.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:  We are planning a great Reunion to include the following:  a welcome reception on Sunday; reminiscing (aka. telling of sea stories) in the Hospitality room Sun-Wed; tour of the USS Alabama on Monday May 4th; tour of the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, FL on Tuesday May 5th; a mini Cinco De Mayo celebration in the Hospitality room on May 5th in the evening; Ladies luncheon on Wednesday May 6th (business meeting held at the same time in the Hospitality room); and a final night Banquet on Wednesday May 6th in the evening. A Muder Mystery Play will be performed for us during dinner. The NPCA wants this reunion to be one that members and guests will remember for years to come.  For those that have committed, thank you and we look forward to seeing you and spending time reminiscing.  If you have not decided, consider what is planned, look over the list of members that have committed so far, and know that there are others that are contemplating attending.  We will update the attendee list in emails and on the website.

REQUEST:  I respectfully request that members and others that are planning to attend, to do a few things from this announcement:

  1. If you are committed, please call and book a room right away.  By doing so you will get the best room choice, and help us satisfy our room block.  You can cancel all the way up until 2 days prior.
  2. Please send me an email that indicates (a) if you are local and do not need a room; (b) if you will book a room; (c) how many guests in your party; (d) if you have any special physical, dietary, mobility or other concerns (only serious things here please); (e) how many in your party plan to go on the USS Alabama tour; (f) how many in your party plan to go to the Naval Aviation Museum tour; (g) you and your guest’s preferences for particular soda/beer/wine/snacks (the more info, the better we can provide your preferences in the Hospitality room), and (h) if you will park a car.

==========================================

Locked in: Our 2026 NPCA Reunion will be 3–7 May 2026 at The Admiral Hotel in downtown Mobile, AL — the top choice of the four hotels we evaluated.

Why this hotel works:

  • Best of the two downtown historic‑district hotels that responded — and it’s a beautiful Boutique Hotel (see videos at links below).
  • $129/night room rate includes breakfast for two (current online rate for that week is $147 without breakfast).
  • Negotiated a $10 rate reduction just this week.
  • Private buffet breakfast in our Hospitality Room (eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage, pancakes, grits, potatoes, drinks).
  • No fees for Hospitality Room, or Banquet/Lunch rooms. No resort fees. Free Wi‑Fi.
  • Hotel will purchase our beer/wine/snacks at their wholesale cost (lowers our Registration fee).
  • Rooms:  106 Kings, 50 Doubles, plus 1BR/2BR suites available at a discounted rate.
  • Contract in progress. Do not reserve rooms yet — a discount code will be provided once the hotel activates it.

Tours planned:

  • USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park
  • National Naval Aviation Museum, Pensacola FL
  • Bus Transportation provided by a local church in exchange for a donation (win-win).

Let’s grow our attendees:

35 shipmates are committed, with others still deciding. If there’s someone you’d enjoy catching up with, reach out — it would mean a lot to see as many of us there as possible.

If something’s keeping you from attending, reach out. Sometimes it’s just a question or detail we can help clear up.

Let’s make new memories:
We’ve got stories worth retelling and friendships worth renewing. It would be great to share that with as many Postal Clerks as possible.

are going well.

Navy Postal Clerk Association Reunion in Mobile, AL

The dates for the reunion will be 3-7 May 2026 (Sun-Thurs). In May the temperature averages 75 degrees, and there is a lot to do and great cuisine in the region. Typically, our group participates in two activities-one paid by the NPCA, and one paid by the member. We also hang out and reminisce with each other in the hospitality suite with coffee and snacks in the morning, and beer/wine/cocktails in the evening (more specific schedule to follow). Tours being considered are: the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, the Battleship USS Alabama, and a River boat Cruise.

Reunion attendance is available to any Postal Clerk; you do not have to be a member of the Navy Postal Clerks Association. The NPCA is for past and present Navy members of the Postal Clerk Rating (established 1960) and their families. Also pre and post PCs that served as Navy Postal Clerks are welcome as are Marine Corps Postal Clerks, and any officer or civilian employee that served in a postal billet. In addition, any member of the Logistics Specialist (LS) or Retail Specialist (RS) Ratings who are, or have been assigned to postal duties are eligible to join. Any and all family members of a deceased postal clerk are also welcome to join. The association is made up of former, retired and active men and women of the Navy Postal Service who have been serving the fleet since October 1960. There is a myth that the association is a bunch of old Chiefs. Not true, we have PCSN’s to PCCM’s, serving as little as 2 years to over 30 years, regular Navy as well as Reserves.

Information about membership (including application) is on the Home page of the website. POC is our Treasurer, Jeff Gibbs: poczar.jlg@gmail.com
