NEW REUNION NEWS MOBILE 2)

LATERST REUNION UPDATE

NPCA Members,

1. The dates for our Reunion in Mobile AL are 3-7 May 2026. Based on responses, all were Ok with this date. One member could only attend
during this time, and five members said they preferred these dates. For the April dates, two said they preferred them, but were Ok with the May dates as well.

2. As of today, there are three nice Mobile AL hotels that have responded that meet all, or almost all of our requests. I will go to Mobile and visit these
three and any others that respond before the trip. After that, a small committee will assist in the final selection.

3. Also as of today, the top three vote getters for Mobile tours are: The Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, the USS Alabama, and river cruise. The committee
will also select the tours.

I will make a short update post on the Navy Postal Clerk FB site. Below are the 24 members/PCs that have committed so far. Others are on the fence based on their
own personal factors. Reach out to any member or PC that you would like to see attend and let them know that you and others want to catch up with them.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Reunion attendance is available to any Postal Clerk; you do not have to be a member of the Navy Postal Clerks Association. The NPCA is for past and present Navy members of the Postal Clerk Rating (established 1960) and their families. Also pre and post PCs that served as Navy Postal Clerks are welcome as are Marine Corps Postal Clerks, and any officer or civilian employee that served in a postal billet. In addition, any member of the Logistics Specialist (LS) or Retail Specialist (RS) Ratings who are, or have been assigned to postal duties are eligible to join. Any and all family members of a deceased postal clerks are also welcome to join. The association is made up of former, retired and active men and women of the Navy Postal Service who have been serving the fleet since October 1960. There is a myth that the association is a bunch of old Chiefs. Not true, we have PCSN’s to PCCM’s, serving as little as 2 years to over 30 years, regular Navy as well as Reserves.C
Information about membership (including application) is on the Home page of the website. POC is our poczar.jlg@gmail.com Treasurer, Jeff Gibbs: poczar.jlg@gmail.com
Email to NPCA Membership,
I hope this email finds you and your family doing well. The NPCA staff are in the planning stage for our next reunion in Mobile AL for April/May 2026. I hope that you can budget for and plan to join with some of your fellow Postal Clerks and attend the Reunion. In April/May the temperature averages 75 degrees, and there is a lot to do and great cuisine in the region. If you have attended a Reunion previously you know our group usually participates in two activities- one paid by the NPCA, and one paid by the member. We also hang out and reminisce with each other in the hospitality suite with coffee and snacks in the morning, and beer/wine/cocktails in the evening (more specific schedule to follow).
This email is twofold- one to propose some dates in the late April/early May timeframe for the reunion, and also to solicit feedback.
1. One request is to provide feedback by reply to me, to provide a preference for the below dates (Sunday thru Thursday)- (please reply and rank dates for preference)

2. The 2nd request is to please consider and provide your preference of two attractions from the below list (please reply and rank attractions 1, 2, and 3 in order of preference).

Plan your visit at National Naval Aviation Museum FREE admission/FREE parking, great Navy museum (NPCA must pay a Bus cost to transport attendees)

Home – USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park $15/$18 (Very popular, and highly recommended)

Scenic Port of Mobile, AL River Boat Tours | Perdido Queen $35 (Note- Popular from previous Reunions near water (San Diego, Charleston))

Looking forward to the NPCA setting up a great event in Mobile, hope you can make it!

Sample reply, please copy and edit something like this:

1. I plan to attend, (x) number of attendees.
.
2. Prefer 1. Attraction 2. Attraction 3. Attraction

Thanks in advance,
Ed Larson, NPCA President
